TAC June 2008

The same day that I found out about my new job was the day that I had my 3rd annual scrapbooking event here in New Iberia! Talk about a weekend!!

The weekend was great with a few quierks, but it all worked out.... It was a 60's themed event and everyone had a groovy time!! Check out the web site for a bunch of pics from the event. I haven't had a chance to work on my digi layouts as I had for the year before because of the most dreadful thing.....my hard drive funked out on me!!! Fortunately, I had just backed up my digi scrap files to cd just the week before it decided to play hookie. The only bad thing is that my cd drive had also funked out on me earlier this year and I have yet to get that checked out. I know, shame on me, again.

So back to the event!
It was tons of fun as usual, and I can say that because I'm just a little biased :-) But really, the costume contest is always a huge highlight. The Krewe of Kroppers had won first place by dressing as Diana Ross and the Supremes. A group of friends from Mississippi, who called themselves the Woodstock Scrappers for the event, won 2nd Place for their "These Boots Were Made For Walkin'" Skit. Wanda Beelman had won the Individual Costume Contest.

The layout contest had about a dozen wonderful entries. The winners were Wendy Gruich for her golf lesson layout. This page was unbelieveable! She did a cracked window effect by using popped photo layers and a broken golf ball. She did an awesome job! 2nd Place went to Jackie Begley's ground zero layout with pictures she took while in New York. The layout had transparencies with the names of all those lost in the wreckage. 3rd Place went to Nicole Petersen's 4-wheeler layout. Nicole always does such beautiful work and her pictures are awesome!
