Yeaaa, I am working on organizing another awesome event for the fall!! I am working towards November 7th-9th of this year. I am doing a test run at a new hotel in Houma, LA. I'm a little nervous because one, it's away from home and two, it's during the fall. It will be during school so I had to make it a 3 day event as opposed to my usual 4.
Check out my website....I'll have more info about it posted soon :-)

What?? TAC November 2008??

TAC June 2008
The same day that I found out about my new job was the day that I had my 3rd annual scrapbooking event here in New Iberia! Talk about a weekend!!
The weekend was great with a few quierks, but it all worked out.... It was a 60's themed event and everyone had a groovy time!! Check out the web site for a bunch of pics from the event. I haven't had a chance to work on my digi layouts as I had for the year before because of the most dreadful thing.....my hard drive funked out on me!!! Fortunately, I had just backed up my digi scrap files to cd just the week before it decided to play hookie. The only bad thing is that my cd drive had also funked out on me earlier this year and I have yet to get that checked out. I know, shame on me, again.
So back to the event!
It was tons of fun as usual, and I can say that because I'm just a little biased :-) But really, the costume contest is always a huge highlight. The Krewe of Kroppers had won first place by dressing as Diana Ross and the Supremes. A group of friends from Mississippi, who called themselves the Woodstock Scrappers for the event, won 2nd Place for their "These Boots Were Made For Walkin'" Skit. Wanda Beelman had won the Individual Costume Contest.
The layout contest had about a dozen wonderful entries. The winners were Wendy Gruich for her golf lesson layout. This page was unbelieveable! She did a cracked window effect by using popped photo layers and a broken golf ball. She did an awesome job! 2nd Place went to Jackie Begley's ground zero layout with pictures she took while in New York. The layout had transparencies with the names of all those lost in the wreckage. 3rd Place went to Nicole Petersen's 4-wheeler layout. Nicole always does such beautiful work and her pictures are awesome!

New Job!!!
Yeeaaa!! I am so excited!! I found out about a month ago that I am going to have my very own class......no sharing this time, even though last time wasn't so bad. There's just nothing like having your own room and your own students!! I know I may have some withdrawls going from "Hebert/Rojas" as I/We (LOL) were called at Johnston Street. Now it's just ROJAS :-) Anyway, I am going back to the school that I student taught in.....Hopkins :-) I am going to have a first grade class which is cool and what's just as fun is that most of the kids in my class are going to be the ones that I taught in K as a student teacher in the winter of '07! It should be fun!
So now the fun stuff....I have to plan my room, theme/decorations, lesson plans, and and and... I have training all week this week and then it is back to work. My summer is gone and I can't even believe it!
Well, wish me luck!! I am excited and I know this year will be a great one!!

Craziness.....and I miss my internet!!!
Well, the past few weeks have been crazy with the moving around, no internet (LOL) or cell phone service.....Mya started school last Thursday and Trey started his first day in Kindergarten today!!! He was so excited, but unfortunately I wasn't able to hear about it when he got home today!! Sniff sniff...Mya had a eye appt. at Children's Hospital in New Orleans to verify whether or not she has congenital glaucoma (spelling??) Well she doesn't....thank goodness, but the doc would like to rule out some things that may be linking her hearing and vision problems. So we'll be back!!
I start student teaching on MONDAY!!! I'm excited but just a tad bit nervous!! Maybe after I find out who my teacher is and what grade I will be in it will be better. I am hoping for 2nd grade....it is the only grade level in my certification that I have not had experience in. AND since Mya is now in 2nd grade, I can follow along with what she'll be doing in school as well :-)
Well, hopefully within the next week things will get going on our new home and we will start living normally, LOL if we were at all normal before :-), by the beginning of September! Let's just say I can't wait, as if you wouldn't have already guessed :-) Maybe by then I will be able to get back on track and get some new pics on here to share.
Oh, and TODAY is my lovely sis' birthday!! Happy Birthday Devin!! Hope you had a great day :-) Luv ya!
Later!!

New Layouts

Here are some new layouts I've been working on :-) We're getting ready to move and I SHOULD be packing but instead I am playing...LOL
So yep....we are moving!! We are staying in New Iberia, just moving about five minutes away from where we are now. Our new home won't be ready for at least another 3-4 weeks, so until then Wayne is going to hang out in New Iberia, and the kids and I will be visiting MeMe and Nanny Dev back home during the last couple of weeks of summer.
So I caught up on some layouts...
The first one is Trey's preschool graduation. He was so excited to graduate and he wanted to go all out. He insisted on dressing up, tie and all. He had a great time and did excellent for his performance. Looking at these pictures, with him standing next to his fellow classmates, made me realize how tall this boy is! He is definitely going to be tall...just like both of his grandfathers.
The next layout is from Mya's last class field trip of the school year. The kids had a great time in the pool and I got to get rid of some of my white skin :-)
The last two are from Mya's 2nd dance recital. She did a wonderful job and enjoyed being on stage :-) The theme was 'Let's go to the Movies' and Mya was in The Little Mermaid, Annie, and Chicken Little. I guess you can say Chicken Little is 'coming soon' :-)
