Vacation!!!

We went to Fort Walton Beach in Florida a couple of weeks ago for a friend's wedding. We decided to make a mini vacation of it.....we spent some time on the beach - drooled over the BLUE and Emerald Green waters, hit the water park, and rented a boat for the day with friends. We had a great time.....check out some of my favorite pics!!

The worst part was really the drive...about 6.5 hours from New Iberia. Of course, we had our beach withdrawls once we returned home, which included trying to figure out when we would be able to go back!! OH, and of course I found a scrapbook store, and would you know, the second I mention it Wayne hits the gas like we were about to be hit by an oncoming car!!! The nerve :-)

What?? TAC November 2008??

Yeaaa, I am working on organizing another awesome event for the fall!! I am working towards November 7th-9th of this year. I am doing a test run at a new hotel in Houma, LA. I'm a little nervous because one, it's away from home and two, it's during the fall. It will be during school so I had to make it a 3 day event as opposed to my usual 4.

Check out my website....I'll have more info about it posted soon :-)

TAC June 2008

The same day that I found out about my new job was the day that I had my 3rd annual scrapbooking event here in New Iberia! Talk about a weekend!!

The weekend was great with a few quierks, but it all worked out.... It was a 60's themed event and everyone had a groovy time!! Check out the web site for a bunch of pics from the event. I haven't had a chance to work on my digi layouts as I had for the year before because of the most dreadful thing.....my hard drive funked out on me!!! Fortunately, I had just backed up my digi scrap files to cd just the week before it decided to play hookie. The only bad thing is that my cd drive had also funked out on me earlier this year and I have yet to get that checked out. I know, shame on me, again.

So back to the event!
It was tons of fun as usual, and I can say that because I'm just a little biased :-) But really, the costume contest is always a huge highlight. The Krewe of Kroppers had won first place by dressing as Diana Ross and the Supremes. A group of friends from Mississippi, who called themselves the Woodstock Scrappers for the event, won 2nd Place for their "These Boots Were Made For Walkin'" Skit. Wanda Beelman had won the Individual Costume Contest.

The layout contest had about a dozen wonderful entries. The winners were Wendy Gruich for her golf lesson layout. This page was unbelieveable! She did a cracked window effect by using popped photo layers and a broken golf ball. She did an awesome job! 2nd Place went to Jackie Begley's ground zero layout with pictures she took while in New York. The layout had transparencies with the names of all those lost in the wreckage. 3rd Place went to Nicole Petersen's 4-wheeler layout. Nicole always does such beautiful work and her pictures are awesome!

New Job!!!

Yeeaaa!! I am so excited!! I found out about a month ago that I am going to have my very own class......no sharing this time, even though last time wasn't so bad. There's just nothing like having your own room and your own students!! I know I may have some withdrawls going from "Hebert/Rojas" as I/We (LOL) were called at Johnston Street. Now it's just ROJAS :-) Anyway, I am going back to the school that I student taught in.....Hopkins :-) I am going to have a first grade class which is cool and what's just as fun is that most of the kids in my class are going to be the ones that I taught in K as a student teacher in the winter of '07! It should be fun!

So now the fun stuff....I have to plan my room, theme/decorations, lesson plans, and and and... I have training all week this week and then it is back to work. My summer is gone and I can't even believe it!

Well, wish me luck!! I am excited and I know this year will be a great one!!
